Atheists are looked down upon as a minority and our lack of belief in a deity is therefore seen as strange. I wanted to challenge this in two ways, firstly, how common is non-religion and secondly, is there a correlation between non-religion and high intelligence. The statistics shown in this video may vary greatly from source to source but they are as close as I could get. The results show that not only is non-religion far more common than the religious population realizes, it also has a strong connection with higher intelligence. One of the most ominous events of modern history is quietly unfolding. Social scientists and economists agree – we are headed toward a demographic winter which threatens to have catastrophic social and economic consequences. The effects will be severe and long lasting and are already becoming manifest in much of Europe. A groundbreaking film, Demographic Winter: Decline of the Human Family, reveals in chilling soberness how societies with diminished family influence are now grimly seen as being in social and economic jeopardy. Demographic Winter draws upon experts from all around the world – demographers, economists, sociologists, psychologists, civic and religious leaders, parliamentarians and diplomats. Together, they reveal the dangers facing society and the worlds economies, dangers far more imminent than global warming and at least as severe. Official website: www.demographicwinter.com
Chapter 14 (Assets & Demographics – Part 1 of 2): Having examined our nations current, never-before-seen level of debt, as well as our failure to save, we now move on to look at our assets. Key Concept 8 is introduced, that debts are fixed, but assets are variable, sometimes gaining and sometimes losing. Dr. Martenson examines Americas assets, especially in light of our current demographic situation. The effect of the baby boomer generation is specifically considered, with the conclusion that the next 20 years are going to be completely unlike the last twenty years. www.chrismartenson.com
