Question: Know the difference between Clinton’s boom and Bush’s bubble?
Clinton’s boom was based on REAL money and a dollar the most stable and strong as it EVER has been due to the balanced budget (yes that meant higher taxes geniuses).
Bush’s bubble was based on deregulation, FAKE money, and incredibly WEAK currency (the dollar dropped FIFTY PERCENT during his time in relation to the Euro – the catastrophe was in the making LONG BEFORE Democrats had a razo slim majority in Congress that allowed them to enact exactly NO legislation).
Bush’s bubble economy was a disaster just waiting to happen based on incredibly irresponsible monetary and fiscal policy. It had nothing to do with Democrats other than they went along with all of Bush’s dumb plans and deregulation of things that are regulated for very good reasons.
This is why it’s so irritating when people go on about Democrats “attacking” Bush before – when in fact they did every damned thing he asked of them, and signed every damned bill he put before them! Incredibly short memories – and now Republicans are attacking and blocking every single thing Obama tries to do tooth and nail, and saying that’s “fair” somehow.
And to people here claiming otherwise – the Housing Act had absolutely nothing to do with the massive sub-prime lending market which the banks did themselves voluntarily and against all expert advice – that’s what caused the crash. And it was possible because Bush deregulated loan bundling/reselling further feeding the highly-leveraged buying frenzy.
Listening to Fox News does not = “research” FYI.
Lower taxes have never been proven to do anything but make the debt larger and lead to short term booms and collapses.
You guys and Fox News can still have all the excuses and pretty language you want – your policies will still fail and lead to Market crashes and Recessions again and again (and again, and again…)
